Project Description

Rotary Club of Kavre Valley jointly with Rotary club of Kavre Banepa and Rotary E Club of Namobuddha in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital.

5. Objective:
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding, educate new and expectant mothers, and promote a supportive community environment. The use of drama as a communication tool was chosen to make the message more relatable and impactful.

6. Program Overview:
The event began with a formal session and speech by the chief guest i.e Ward President of ward-8, Banepa Municipality Ms. Subhalaxmi Manandhar followed by the drama.The drama portrayed the journey of a young working mother facing societal pressures, misinformation, and lack of support in her breastfeeding journey. It emphasized the need for workplace support, family involvement, and proper medical guidance.The audience responded with great enthusiasm and emotional engagement. Many mothers expressed appreciation for the relatable storyline and clear messaging.Distribution of informational pamphlets on breastfeeding benefits and techniques was provided. Conducted Q&A session with doctors and health workers. At last,Refreshments and networking session for attendees was managed.

The drama successfully conveyed critical information in an accessible and engaging manner. The event reached over 150 participants, including young mothers, pregnant women, healthcare workers, and community leaders.

The celebration of Breastfeeding Week through drama proved to be a highly effective medium to engage the community. The Rotary Club’s initiative was well-received and has paved the way for similar educational programs in the future.
